Civic Engagement
For All Of Us
Connecting Civic Engagement Across Snohomish, Skagit, Island, Kitsap, and Whatcom Counties
At Northwest WA Civic Circle, we don't just dream of a world where community members can share and work towards a diverse set of ideas - we collaborate together to ensure it.
As a nonprofit cooperative, we want to create safe, civil spaces
Our Cooperative
As the need for civic engagement and civil discourse increases, so does the need for organizations to provide these opportunities. Northwest WA Civic Circle (NWCC) aims to be the nonpartisan hub for groups large and small to work collaboratively.
What We Do
Civic Engagement
We address the civic engagement desert by broadening the number of opportunities across the identified counties, and expanding those engagement opportunities beyond politics.
Civic Discourse
We create safe spaces, both in- person and virtual, for exchanges on topics that impact our communities. We include subject matter experts on various aspects of the discussions
Community Building
We celebrate bringing community members, civic leaders, influencers, for-profit, nonprofit, and grass root organizations together to build relationships across political and cultural ideologies.

The Opportunity
As a cooperative, we will work together beyond our silos to impact and increase engagement for our respective organizations
No re-creating the wheel. The NWCC is a hub for existing organizations to share resources, collaborate, and partner on events that reach larger audiences.
Stronger in numbers, we will bring regional, state, and federal level leadership to our areas for debates, forums, and other engagement programming.

Community and Civic Leader Support
-
Ilona Lohrey, President & CEO, GSBA
“We cannot be more excited to support NWCC and the civic engagement, civic discourse, and community building they will bring to our region through advocacy. Alicia Crank is a proven and strong leader who has our full support. We are excited to continue working with Alicia and NWCC.”
-
Erin Murray, Mountlake Terrace City Council
"Our communities are stronger when each of us have a well-rounded understanding of civics, the issues and opportunities before us, and how to make our voices heard. Alicia is a talented connector and convenor and I'm excited to support NWCC's work to build a more informed, more engaged, and more connected community in Snohomish County and throughout Northwest Washington."
-
Nate Nehring, Snohomish County Council
-
Susan Paine, Edmonds City Council
"NWCC will bring people together for conversations and an exchange of ideas. I know Alicia’s work from her role as the Executive Director for Seattle City Club in bringing people together, where the engagement has been intellectually challenging, and socially relevant. I am REALLY looking forward to this organization coming together because I have been able to participate in International Women’s Day in Edmonds for the past 7 years - these events were fun, engaging, and brought hundreds of people together for these panel discussions. Alicia always puts together these discussions with a the right amount of panache!"
-
Dr. Corrie Gold Wilder, WSU Everett
"NWCC is exactly what the North Puget Sound region needs. Just as the Economic Alliance of Snohomish County has driven business growth, we need a similar model focused on civic engagement and community development. NWCC has the potential to be that transformative force, uniting diverse voices to strengthen our civic infrastructure. I’m excited to support this initiative and look forward to helping however I can to make this vision a reality"
-
Dr. Steve Woodard, Elected Official and Community Activist
“A one-stop hub centered on creating and identifying opportunities to engage in our community is transformational. Keeping the lines of communication open and clear has perhaps never been more needed.”
